My personal opinion is this. If the DOT OFFICER'S had been
doing thier job in the past . We would not have unsafe driver's . I have been a long haul trucker for 17 years
nearly 2 million safe miles . With a Clean dot record.
and clean MVR . I know a few State's that have done the best watching Our Highways. I also no the State's that treated it like a 9 to 5 . Here is some that did protect 24-7
Virginia , California, Wisconsin, Georgia , Florida that
is about it. I should add Colorado as well.
Thing we do not take into consideration.... the Fatal accidents happen in the dark hour's . The fender bender's happen mostly in the rush hours, or Holiday traffic ,
Then we have the I don't care trucker's that have thier own trucking system. My point is this ...Even with the simplest
system . If it is not enforced it will fail . In the last
10 years. We as trucker's have tried to adjust to an ever
changing DOT REGULATION guide line . If I have a hard time
with your Logs & compliance changes . Can you imagine what
a first year driver is thinking . That alone has caused one
of the first unsafe acts in the industry . Taking a 14 hr
rule an putting into affect. Is like taking a loaded gun and
putting it back in a crimminals hand. It is easy for people
to sit back and dish stupid . If you have to worry about
how long you have to work, how many fines you are about
to receive. How the shipper is going to react. Compliance record or who you drive for ? Or what your rookie load planner has created for you . Where is the next roadside
Inspection going to take place ? Danger Zone # 2 . This
is the very beginning of what is wrong with the industry.
Most new driver's in the first year are just trying to control the load planners needs, the rest comes later .
You have got to understand that the course you are taking
is going to be a disater in the making. And when DOT gets
done running all of us Veterans off . The system will have
to be fixed again . But for us We will demand a very high
wage of compensation to bail you out. If you think removing
Veterans from the highway, think again . We are your personal safety Line . Without us in the ranks you will start to see the industry crumble . I have already seen the
new breed trucker coming from these so called truck driving
schools and that is like waiting for hurricane to hit. The
students think these trucks are cool and fast . The roll
over ratio is going to be the largest percentage ever known
to the trucking industry . The late frieght will cost companies more contracts then you could ever imagine . I think that I make a valid point . My prediction of the transportation industry will become a total disaster within
the next year to a year and half . I think who ever came up
with this CSA2010 has got their head stuck so far up and they will be held responsible for the damage they have created in the transportation Industry . I fear that CSA2010
Can destroy everything that My Grandfather,My Dad, Myself
Have Built because of lazyness in the Transportation Department. Look at the few states listed see what the
percentage of violation they capture VS the 9 to 5rs . You
know you can and will always blame the truck driver, but
that does'nt mean that's where the problem lives.
